A brief for pastors and ministry leaders

What you are being asked to consider

Freedom Prayer equips your church to build and sustain its own personal prayer ministry team. You are not adding an outside program or a standing appointment on the calendar. You are training members of your congregation to serve the people already in your pews who are stuck in a way that preaching and small groups have not reached.

Four ways to describe it

  • A ministry team inside your church equipped for first responder care to those who are hindered or seeking a deeper prayer life.
  • A biblical prayer ministry of sanctification that removes strongholds and produces a mature walk with God, with tools for transformation and healing.
  • A discipleship tool in spiritual formation that teaches believers how to pray and how to abide.
  • A multi-denominational network of churches and organizations committed to the freedom of their communities.

The problem it addresses

Wounding, sin, ungodly beliefs, and entanglements create strongholds that cause continual struggle with God and with others. Those struggles rarely surface in a Sunday service and rarely resolve in a small group. Freedom Prayer provides solid biblical reconciliation and restoration, promoting a healthy prayer life and discipling individuals into a whole and abiding relationship with God.

The six pillars

The model is built on a strong scriptural basis. Literally a hundred passages direct individuals and church leaders in how to care for or disciple those within their flock. That material is organized into six pillars, taught as memory tools so a lay volunteer can carry the framework into a prayer time without notes.

How a partnership unfolds

  1. Freedom Prayer meets with your leadership to understand your vision, ministries, and goals, then adapts the tools to your church culture. A Basic Training weekend teaches and equips the church. What you receive: a trained core of leaders and a model that fits how your church already works.
  2. Continuing Education. Freedom Prayer helps form the prayer ministry team, with attention to each member’s own freedom and spiritual health, and provides coaching through a Continuing Education curriculum in preparation for ministry. What you receive: a team that is healthy, unified, and genuinely ready before it serves anyone.
  3. Establishment and Partnership. As the ministry is presented to the congregation, ongoing relationship and resources cultivate a culture of freedom alongside your existing initiatives. Advanced training is offered, along with strategies for reproducing the team. What you receive: a ministry your church owns and can multiply without depending on us.

Common questions

Is this counseling? No. Freedom Prayer is prayer ministry, not therapy, and teams refer when an issue calls for clinical or pastoral care beyond prayer.

Who serves on a team? Members of your congregation who complete Basic Training and Continuing Education. Prayer is always in threes, never one-on-one.

What does it cost and what is the time commitment? The cost is $35.

What safeguards are in place around confidentiality? Freedom Prayer experiences are 100% confidential.
